Three female candidates for national and state office spoke before a large than usual audience at the monthly meeting of the Lynnfield Democratic Town Committee on Wednesday January 15th at the Al Merritt Media room at Market Street in Lynnfield.
Shannon Liss-Reardon captivated the enthusiastic group and spoke about her experience fighting on behalf of working people. She was running for Edward Markey’s (D) senate seat. Unfortunately, the following day after her visit she dropped out of the race, leaving US Congressman Joseph Kennedy (D) as Edward Markey’s sole challenger for the Democratic Primary in September.
Jamie Belsito addressed the group and was warm and amusing as she spoke of her desire to represent the 6th Massachusetts District in Congress, a seat currently held by US Congressman Seth Moulton. She is an advocate for Women’s Rights, more funding for public education and fighting the Opioid Epidemic, among other issues.
Michelle Mullet is a candidate for the 20th Middlesex District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She discussed her vision for cleaner water and environment and a world where small children don’t have to have active shooter trainings in our schools.
This seat is currently held by Rep. Bradley Jones (R), who has been the representative since 1994.
